Eligibility

Who qualifies?

Most veterans and many family members qualify for at least one federal burial benefit. A short conversation is usually enough to confirm.

  • Served on active duty (other than for training) and received other than a dishonorable discharge
  • Reservists and National Guard members activated for federal service
  • Members who died on active duty
  • Certain spouses and dependents of eligible veterans
